Our Story
How it all started
After commuting to work for over two years we decided to start a Montessori project in Glasgow with what we had.
Modest beginnings
We were fortunate enough to have a room lent to us to start with Montessori playgroups in Glasgow city center. We prepared a calm and nurturing space for 0-3 years children and their caregivers to explore and engage with age appropriate activities and discussion topics.
We adapted to change
First we moved into the room next door and later relocated to new premises in Bearsden and Easterhouse.
Aside from our initial Wigglers and Blossom playgroups we started Spanish/French immersion sessions.
What we’ve learned
Our families have been welcomed into the calm environment and given the opportunity to learn about the Montessori philosophy and how to implement some of its principles at home.
Over our first year together we observed how children adapted and became more independent and confident and how the space also provided a nurturing place for parents and caregivers.
Children and caregivers enjoyed having additional languages to the playgroups and celebrated with us making the Montessori for All sessions available.
We’ve appreciate every child and caregiver that has come through our doors and has been part of this journey of creating new Montessori opportunities for children and their families.
